The Government announce a 3 month mortgage holiday for UK Homeowners

Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced an unprecedented package to support businesses and UK citizens through the coronavirus outbreak.

One of these measures includes a three month mortgage break for homeowners struggling with mortgage payments after the Covid-19 outbreak.

“Mortgage lenders will offer a three month ‘mortgage holiday’ for those in financial difficulty due to the coronavirus outbreak”.

Several banks have already announced packages to support customers through these challenging times:

  • Lloyds Bank
  • Halifax
  • Royal Bank of Scotland
  • Natwest
  • TSB
  • Virgin Money
  • Clydesdale Bank
  • Yorkshire Bank

Now all mortgage providers will be forced to provide the three-month payment break for customers that have been financially impacted by the outbreak.
